I just finished working on the paperback edition of Eric Jerome Dickey's Waking with Enemies, the sequel to Sleeping with Strangers. I'd read and worked on some of Dickey's other work--his novels are gritty urban tomes--and I believe these two books are his best work to date. No lulls in the middle, as you find with so much fiction.

My only criticism, really, was that the end of Waking was a little too pat and too convenient, too darn predictable. But I don't want to give anything away: suffice it to say that there's enough sex and thrills for a male audience and enough character growth and a few tender moments to appeal to women.
